"Velvet Octane by Humboldt Seeds was developed from various Og Kush family strains. It is a cross between 4 Og called Geist Og crossed with its own Afghan Og. The result is a plant with a robust structure and large leaves, with spicy diesel flavours and aromas and a high potency. Velvet Octane growth Velvet Octane shows a vigorous and compact development, with lateral ramification that widens and lengthens forming long colas of buds during the flowering stage. It is an ideal plant for SOG cultivation. Thanks to its great vigour and by using small pots, a perfect vertical growth is promoted in order to use the One Bud method. Topping or continuous cup pruning can also be performed to widen the plant and cultivate in SCROG or produce a good mother plant. Velvet Octane is suitable for all growing methods and systems. It requires balanced nutrition with moderate nitrogen doses and high amounts of phosphorus and potassium during the flowering stage in order to produce large and compact buds. Indoors, 6-9 plants can be used in a conventional soil cultivation without the need for pruning. Or a SOG cultivation using about 20 plants per m2 for a fast and productive harvest. Velvet Octane flowering During the flowering period it shows its true potential on a terpenic level. The buds are smelled from a distance offering a mixture of aromas where diesel dominates with spicy notes provided by the beta-myrcene and beta-caryophyllene terpenes. It has a flowering period of just about 56-60 days when cultivated under artificial light. Outdoors the harvest is ready in October. Indoor production can vary according to the number of plants and cultivation method, with a yield of about 450-600g per m2. Outdoors under optimal growing conditions, the monster plants it produce can yield up to 4000g. Leaf pruning or defoliation is done during the first weeks of flowering after the stretching, so the light can reach the inner and lower plant areas increasing the quantity, weight and volume of the buds. It produces a powerful and cerebral effect, with a THC level between 19-21% that recreates a relaxing but mentally powerful effect in pure Og style.
