Strain Profile

MAC and Cheese

A big bowl of Mac and Cheese is sure to leave you feeling warm and buzzing. And the same is true with this funky, potent cannabis hybrid. Bred by a beloved US cannabis breeder, Mac and Cheese is a hybrid strain that packs around 25% THC and a rich mix of terpenes, making for a potent smoke loaded with cheesy aromas and flavours. Keep reading to learn more about the Mac And Cheese weed strain, including its history, genetic origins, and more. History of The Mac And Cheese Cannabis Strain Mac and Cheese is a hybrid cannabis strain created by Capulator, an extremely elusive yet highly respected US breeder. Little is known about Capulator and his origins, though he is rumored to have been breeding since the late 1990s and is said to have started making a name for himself, like many breeders of his time, on forums such as Rollitup, THC Farmer, and IC Mag. Cap readily produces new strains which can be bought from the Capulator website, as well as from other seed retailers. To date, some of his most popular strains include: • The Mac/Mac1 • Freezer Burn • Cap Junky • Big Chillz • Mac and Cheese Genetic Lineage of Mac And Cheese Weed Mac and Cheese is a hybrid strain created by crossing The Mac and Alien Cheese. Below we'll take a closer look at both of these strains, their traits, and what they may have imparted on Mac And Cheese. The Mac is Capulator's flagship creation. A cross of Alien Cookies, Starfighter, and Columbian genetics, The Mac (AKA Miracle Alien Cookies) is a potent, aromatic cross treasured by growers. In interviews, Capulator has said that the exact cross that birthed The Mac was Alien Cookies F2 and Miracle (Starfighter X Columbian, a line Cap had been working on for some time). In the same interviews, Capulator admits to making the cross as an attempt to preserve the high and aromas of his unique Alien Cookies F2 pheno while improving its growth rate and yields. After making the cross and hunting down the perfect pheno, Capulator officially launched The Mac in 2016 and it's been revered by growers everywhere ever since. According to cannabis folklore, there are 2 varieties of The Mac in circulation; Cap's Cut or Mac 1, a unique clone-only variety passed down by Capulator to growers/breeders he deems worthy, and The Mac, which is seed stock available to the general public. The second parent of Mac and Cheese is Alien Cheese. Unfortunately, there is very little information about this strain, though rumor has it that Alien Cheese is a well-balanced indica variety packing a sleepy, relaxing stone and funky blue cheese aroma, mixed with notes of earthy skunk. Physical Characteristics of The Mac And Cheese Strain Mac and Cheese seems to be a well-balanced hybrid strain that produces hardy plants. Vegging Mac and Cheese plants develop bright green, broad leaves with a typical hybrid shape. Based on pictures from growers, Mac and Cheese plants stay nice and compact and show only minimal signs of stretch once in bloom. As she flowers, this strain usually develops darker green leaves and long, thick flowers boasting stacks of round calyxes and a shiny layer of trichomes that give the buds an almost silver-ish hue. Properties/Effects of Mac And Cheese Weed Mac and Cheese is a strong hybrid cannabis strain that produces dense, frosty flowers. Thanks to their high resin production, Mac and Cheese flowers can contain between 20 and 25% THC, depending on the batch. The strain is also rich in a variety of aromatic terpenes, including myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene, pinene, geraniol, and more. These compounds combine to give Mac and Cheese a very unique aroma. Take an initial whiff of these lime green flowers and you'll be greeted by upfront aromas of ripe berries and sweet citrus layered carefully over a creamy, milky, and funky bed of cheese notes. A second whiff, however, will reveal the strain's spicy backend, as well as some notes of musky incense reminiscent of the Alien Cookies used to breed The Mac. Light her up and Mac and Cheese's thick smoke/vapour will fill your mouth and douse your tastebuds with notes of earth, musk, and skunk, followed by the sweetness of berries and citrus on the exhale that tend to linger in the mouth for some time. With its high amount of THC and rich concentration of terpenes, Mac and Cheese delivers very strong effects. On average, most smokers report that Mac and Cheese feels slightly sativa-leaning, producing an uplifting, energetic, and euphoric high. Mac and Cheese's effects reportedly hit very quickly, producing a noticeable boost in mood and care-free mental buzz. Soon after, some physical relaxation sets in, though most reporters find this strain to be more energetic rather than relaxing (though this can vary based on your tolerance). While some users report smoking Mac and Cheese in the mornings or during the day, most recommend enjoying it in the evening as its effects can be distracting, making it difficult to stay productive and focused on anything other than vid
