Strain Profile

Banana Cake Pop

Banana Cake Pop Feminized is a 60% indica hybrid developed under Sensi Seeds’ Breeding Grounds as part of a new collaboration with the team at DNA Genetics. This strain takes DNA’s Sour Banana Sorbet (a cross of AJ’s Cut Sour Diesel and Banana Sherbert) with Sensi Seeds’ Double Kush Cake, which brings in Skunk Kush, Hindu Kush, and Afghani #1 genetics. The result is an extremely compact plant with tight internodal spacing and dense, bushy vegetation. While on the shorter end, this strain doesn’t compromise on production and is capable of generating high yields. Thanks to its sturdy and compact growth pattern, this strain responds reasonably well to several advanced growing techniques. Growth pattern of Banana Cake Pop Feminized Banana Cake Pop Feminized cannabis seeds typically grow into extremely compact and bushy plants with dense vegetation and tight internodal spacing. This means that these plants can be grown just about anywhere, and growers should have no problem slotting these plants into almost any setup. Grown indoors, Banana Cake Pop Feminized cannabis plants typically finish flowering at a height of 25-80 cm. Despite this small stature, these plants are still capable of generating high yields of 400-550 grams per square metre over their 60 to 65-day flowering period. If these plants are grown outdoors, they can grow a fair bit larger, reaching heights of 75-125 cm with yields of 475-650 grams per plant. The buds from Banana Cake Pop Feminized are chunky and dense with a frosty coating of trichomes spattered on top of vibrant shades of lime green with yellow highlights and fiery orange pistils. Thanks to the plant’s size and structure, growers should expect a small number of large buds. These dense and sticky flowers are moderately leafy, though there aren’t many, so trimming is relatively hassle-free. Banana Cake Pop Feminized plants are quite versatile and respond pretty well to a range of advanced growing techniques. Thanks to their compact size and high yields, these plants are particularly well-suited to a sea of green (SOG) setup, though they also respond well to supercropping and lollipopping thanks to their robust branches. Sadly, this strain’s small size and slow vegetative growth make it a poor candidate for mainlining or a screen of green (SCROG) approach. Effects, taste, and smell of Banana Cake Pop Feminized As Banana Cake Pop Feminized cannabis plants begin flowering, they give off a sharp, tangy aroma of sour citrus and ripe banana, which quickly fills the grow space. As the plants reach maturity, creamy and earthy notes begin to blend with the sour profile, creating a uniquely mouthwatering aroma. This strain isn’t exactly “low-odour”, so growers may want to take extra steps to manage the smell if they value discretion. Once the buds have been properly dried and cured, they begin to exude a bold combination of sour lemon, sweet banana, and creamy earthiness, with more subtle hints of spicy kush and herbal undertones to add complexity. The flavour is largely what one would expect based on the smell; bright, sour citrus with a sweet banana candy burst on the inhale, while the exhale brings a creamy, earthy kush with a lingering fruity sweetness, leaving behind a balanced sweet and citrusy aftertaste. The effects of Banana Cake Pop Feminized are more in line with its sativa lineage as an initial wave of euphoria and creativity hits hard and fast to spur on a bout of energy and focus. After some time, this initial burst wears off and is gradually replaced by a more relaxing, stoned feeling, which is ideal for soothing muscles and tension without locking you to the couch. Overall, this strain is a great choice for afternoon or evening use, balancing mental clarity with physical relaxation. Did you know? Double Kush Cake was developed in 2020 as part of the Sensi Seeds’ Research Project. Sour Banana Sorbet traces its roots back to Sour Diesel and a range of Sherbets and Kushes. Banana Cake Pop was developed as part of the Breeding Grounds project in 2025, which is the first year Sensi Seeds collaborates with DNA Genetics - two Amsterdam-born game-changers.
