Keep reading to learn more about this exciting strain. History of the Bahama Berry Cannabis Strain Bahama Berry is a hybrid cannabis strain bred by Solfire Gardens, a breeder and genetics brand founded in the Pacific Northwest in 2015. Popping his first seeds in 1996, Solfire has plenty of experience growing cannabis. He also attended the University of Washington where he received a degree in biology and gained hands-on experience in tissue culture, cellular development, and much more. Despite his very formal education, Solfire is known to be very humble and has a very simple outlook on breeding. “Anyone could be a breeder”, Solfire told Mad Man Plant in an interview. “When it comes down to it, I’m just breeding what I like... The science part of things just helps you be better with your protocol”. Solfire Gardens is a long-time friend of Mike from Exotic Genetix and was involved in the creation of Exotic Mike's Strawberries & Cream. Other strains with which Solfire Gardens has enjoyed success include Banana Runtz and Black Banana. Unfortunately, we don't know exactly when Solfire Gardens created Bahama Berry. Genetic Lineage of Bahama Berry Bahama Berry is an indica-dominant hybrid strain descending from Strawberry Jelly and Bahama Mama. Strawberry Jelly is a fairly low-profile indica variety rumored to have been created by Pure Melt in San Francisco. According to some sources, it is a unique Mimosa phenotype hunted down and stabilized for its sweet, artificial strawberry aroma (reminiscent of strawberry syrup, cordial, or, you guessed it, jelly). Rumors also suggest that the Strawberry Jelly cut used in Bahama Berry was the same that Exotic Mike used to create his famous Strawberries & Cream. The strain is considered fairly fast to flower, reaching harvest in about 50 days. Bahama Mama, on the other hand, is a well-known Solfire strain created from a combination of Tropicanna Cookies and Black Banana. Often referred to as a "get up and go strain", Bahama Mama is said to produce an uplifting, energizing high that's ideal for working away at chores or simple tasks without feeling weighed down or lazy, nor too "racy". It has a strong tropical aroma reminiscent of banana and passionfruit, and is known to produce exceptionally dense, frosty flowers. It produces around 25% THC and lots of terpenes. According to some sources, Bahama Mama is moderately difficult to grow and not a great yielder. Physical Characteristics of Bahama Berry Bahama Berry is an indica-dominant hybrid, which shines through in the strain's stature and morphology. These plants reach moderate heights with strong stems and thick, dark green foliage. The strain grows vigorously during veg and is also known to stretch notably once in bloom. As she flowers, Bahama Berry produces light clusters of buds all along its extended branches. The strain is also known to take on beautiful colors towards the end of its flowering cycle and produce small yet super tight and frosty nugs. Bahama Berry typically turns purple as she flowers, though some phenos may retain some of their vibrant green hues. Sometimes, Bahama Berry buds can almost appear jet black due to their unique pigmentation. Properties and Effects of Bahama Berry Bahama Berry weed is potent and produces a lot of frosty resin. Unfortunately, very little information is available regarding this strain's cannabinoid and terpene profiles, as well as its effects. As its name suggests, the strain is said to boast a sweet, almost artificial strawberry aroma, reminiscent of its Strawberry Jelly predecessor. Besides its upfront berry aromas, some users may also pick up on more subtle notes of fresh pine, as well as hints of fresh citrus. Inhale her sweet smoke or vapor and you'll enjoy similar flavors with upfront notes of fresh strawberries and a citrusy kick on the exhale. Despite her indica-dominant genetics, Bahama Berry reportedly makes for a fairly balanced high, delivering a nice mix of cerebral and physical effects. After one or two tokes of this potent hybrid, expect to enjoy an uplifting boost to your mood coupled with a potential increase in creativity and sociability (reminiscent of the effects of Bahaha Mama). Meanwhile, beneath the cerebral stimulus, you'll enjoy a grounding, soothing body stone. Your tolerance will likely be the deciding factor of when and where you use this strain. If you're an experienced smoker with a high tolerance, for example, you might find this a great strain for daytime or a
