This strain is an F1 hybrid between an exceptional Jack Herer mother that has been in our mother room for years and an equally exceptional Herijuana father that just oozes resin. The results of this cross have been better than we could have imagined. The plants are on the taller side and perform best in larger pots however S.O.G. gardens have still yielded wonderful results. These plants will flower for approximately 10 weeks but you can make up the extra flowering time by shortening the veg time as these plants love to stretch once a 12/12 light cycle is induced. This is a very easy growing plant that will yield very well as long as its basic needs are met. The finished product is sublime. Jacks Smack produces large flowers that have a pungent fuel like smell and a heart racing, mind warping buzz if smoked in excess or by less experienced smokers. Lightweights you have been warned. When growing Monster, growers can expect the strain to thrive both indoors and outdoors. If growing the plant indoors it will remain at quite humble heights, peaking at around 120 cm and providing roughly 100 g of flowers per plant. If you decide to grow this strain outdoors within a garden bed when it gets to really spread its roots, it may very well life up to its name and become a true monster, peaking at the enormous heights of 400 cm. Monster is a fast growing strain that offers some very impressive yields. The strain is a hybrid that features 20 percent indica genetics and 80 percent sativa genetics, making it more of a stimulating than a stoning smoke. Monster has quite an impressive genetic lineage and was birthed from the crossbreeding of Mexico, Colombia, Meao Thai, Uzbekistan along with G13 Hash Plant genetics. The high generated from blazing up some Monster is definitely exaggerated by the sativa genetics present within the plant. Nepalese Watermelon Hazeby Centennial Seeds
I had the privilege of visiting a private home garden today where some of my seeds are being trialed this summer. Here’s one I thought was really beautiful. The parents are both vigorous Sativa types. The male was an heirloom Nepalese ‘watermelon’ hash plant which I crossed into a very productive Haze female selection. This plant was about 7 feet in height, very straight and tall. The plant was covered in a profusion of pink and purple flower heads, the colors of which were as beautiful as any ornamental flower I’ve seen. The coloration comes entirely from the flowering parts; the pistils are a brilliant scarlet color, where the calyxes are a deep violet. None of the foliage has shown any secondary colors, but this will likely change as the overnight temps dip into the 402s and lower. Here is a cutting from the plant in the picture above that was rooted and flowered indoors. While it is still several weeks away from finishing, you can see better the structure of the flower heads. Interesting to note that these lack the brilliant pigmentation in the pistils seen in the outdoor plant. These plants were harvested a couple of weeks ago during our first snow of the season. I’ve since had a chance to sample the dried flowers. My first impression was just how purple this material is. The fragrance is delicious and complex, both sweet and acrid at the same time. There is a strong scent of hyssop flowers and root beer with a sharp note of ‘Krazy Glue’ (cyanoacrylate). The effects were very stimulating and clear-headed. Conversations seemed to flow and feelings of empathy and general well being settled in over me as an added bonus. It’s definitely in the Sativa class, strong and motivating, but without that anxiety elevating component found in some of the heavier Haze hybrids. Nice, functional daytime herb.
